Glitch begins at 6:18 Sorry about the bad audio quality! This is my longest video by far, but I think it is also my most informative. I've spent the last few days trying to figure out this glitch, and I can safely say I'm the majority of the way there. There are only two things I feel like I don't fully understand yet: 1. Why leaving the "Quit Replay" menu open causes the glitch to occur. 2. Why the game soft-locks instead of restarting when you finish the race/replay. If a way to exit the race and have your time actually save is ever discovered, this glitch could be historic, but in the meantime, it's only really intriguing for the strange effects it can cause and the insight it brings on the nature of ghost replays. Unfortunately, I'm already hitting another big week of activities. I really can't seem to catch a break! I'll try my best to keep uploading, but it's getting really difficult with the extremely negative feedback I've been receiving from my parents. They don't understand the concept of using video games to create something (they think I'm just mindlessly playing a brain-dead game and achieving nothing, despite me explaining to them about my YouTube channel and glitch discoveries), so they're guilting me into doing activity after activity after activity that I really don't care about all that much. I wish I could just have a break to focus on Mario Kart Wii for once, especially after all of my big discoveries, but instead of trying to understand when I need it the most, they're more ignorant than ever. All of the negativity really hurts my motivation as well, but I don't want to give up yet because I know that there's more here for me to find! Sorry for ranting, but I thought it would be better if you understood the situation I'm in right now. I'll be back whenever I can with more videos, just keep in mind that it might be a very long time if things continue the way they are going!
