Chief Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum says rain and storms continue across Central Alabama today with multiple rounds of heavy rain through early Saturday. While most storms are not severe, gusty winds, a very low tornado risk, and flash flooding are possible tonight as a strong low-level jet moves in. Rainfall totals of 2–4 inches are expected, with isolated amounts reaching up to 6 inches. A Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday evening. Cooler and drier weather arrives this weekend, followed by a cold week ahead.
