The basic price started at £1,260 with additional options such as wire wheels (£38), overdrive (£60) and a tonneau cover (£13) available. The TR5 had a quirk where it could lose power when the petrol tank was less than a quarter full. It was found that sloshing of fuel around the system provided greater aeration.
