Parts#6 Taa ط, Dhaa ظ, ayn ع, ghayn غ & Taa marbuuTa ة The Lighthouse Mosque Arabic Instructor Ustadh Adrian Wood-Smith 15-week (Part) course in the Arabic Alphabet, for those who simply want to learn the alphabet and those who want to teach it as well. At the end of the course, students will be able to read and write using the Arabic script, and have a firm grasp of proper pronunciation of the Arabic letters. The course is designed for those who have little or no experience with Arabic, but it will benefit even those who are familiar with the alphabet and want to go deeper into proper pronunciation and script writing, in shaa' allah. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate, and those who wish to go into more detail and later teach the course themselves will be certified to do so. Adrian Wood-Smith has been an Arabic instructor at Lighthouse Mosque since October 2011. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a major in Arabic language and spent a cumulative 18 months in Arab-speaking countries, including Jordan, Syria, and Egypt. He has studied tajweed privately in Damascus and worked as an Arabic teaching assistant at Zaytuna College. Currently, he is the Coordinator of Student Life at Zaytuna.
