Roosevelt Inaugurated, 1933

2020 is a presidential election year, and when anything happens on the campaign trail, video footage can be found on the internet or television in minutes or even live. But in 1933, film of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's first inauguration had to be driven to an airstrip, flown back to a film studio, and edited before it could be sent out to newsreel theaters, like the one in Union Terminal - though this newsreel came out just a few weeks before Union Terminal opened to the public.
