Thank you and enjoy! Well folks, we now have FIVE tropical systems in the Atlantic Ocean! First is Tropical Storm Franklin that is organizing and developing in the Atlantic Ocean! It currently has winds of 50 MPH and a pressure of 1003 mb. It is expected to strengthen further as either a strong Tropical Storm or a weak Hurricane. The Gulf of Mexico is also seeing some action soon as the NHC tagged Invest 93L in the Caribbean and Gulf! Currently has a 80% chance of development, but the system will be moving in great conditions for development! ANOTHER Tropical Wave entered the Atlantic Ocean and now has a 40% chance of formation while moving over the Main Development Region this week! This has really organized over the last 24 hours and could certainly develop in the next few days! ANOTHER AREA OF INTERST was tagged by the NHC in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. It currently has a 20% chance of development in the next 7 days, but it is expected to come off the African Coast early next week, showing just how confident that this thing will develop! We are now looking at several tropical waves that have recently peaked my interest and the conditions surrounding them. Right now, the waters are the warmest they have ever been and the Ocean Heat Content has been absolutely insane. On the southern tip of Florida, at the Everglades National Park, a temperature reading of 100.2° was recorded! This is a US record for how warm the waters are in the Atlantic! Compared to July 2020, the OHC is much more expansive and will allow for much more fuel for tropical storms and hurricanes to form, especially in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico! NOAA just issued their new 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season forecast! They are calling for an active hurricane season, matching what everyone else has been saying! They expect 14-21 named storms, 6-10 hurricanes, and 2-5 major hurricanes! Colorado State University put out their latest prediction of the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season! It is now calling for an active season with 18+ named storms with 9 hurricanes and 4 major hurricanes! The Weather Channel recently updated their Hurricane Season forecast and are now calling for 20 named storms with 9 hurricanes and 5 major hurricanes! I will keep you updated!
