Little Prelude in C Major, BWV 933 | Kleine Präludien | Piano tutorials | J. S. Bach

Prelude was originally an instrumental introduction to hymns in the church. It later became the introduction before a fugue or suite. In Bach's time, preludes always served as contrasts to fugues, and sometimes as an independent piece. Bach has written three sets of preludes for the clavichord. The set of Six Preludes BWV 933-938 was arranged by Bach in order of key scheme around 1717-1720. It was published in 1802. Bach has written these short preludes for pedagogical purpose.
