"Morning from Peer Gynt" is a reference to "Morning Mood" (Morgenstemning), the iconic and tranquil opening piece from Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1.  This famous piece of classical music was originally composed in 1875 as incidental music for the play Peer Gynt by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. It depicts the rising of the sun in the Moroccan desert during Act 4, Scene 4 of the play, a setting far from Grieg's native Scandinavia that often springs to listeners' minds.
