Raila Odinga - Rigathi Gachagua's Encounter At KICC That Forced Government To Make Protocol Changes
Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga has arrived at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) for the ongoing Africa Climate Summit. On Tuesday, September 5, the ODM leader arrived at KICC a few minutes before 9am for the three-day continental conference. On his arrival at KICC, the opposition chief was received by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and African Union (AU) chairperson Moussa Faki. This will be the third event Raila will be attending an event with President William Ruto and the deputy president. The two political antagonists have shared podiums during several events, and among memorable ones was during the burial of freedom fighter Field Marshal Mukami Kimathi in Nyandarua county on May 13, 2023. The inaugural African summit will develop strategies to mitigate climate effects ahead of the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) at Expo City Dubai. Held at the KICC Nairobi, the summit has been attended by over 17 heads of state and government and representatives from businesses, civil society organizations, and the scientific community.
