Korean Traditional painting by A song 제목: 아지랑이 머문 자리 잎새에 뉘인 바람 This creator, Kim, Yoi-ja’s painting is an expression of emotion for the time. It uses the traditional material of oriental painting called Sajunja but records the state of mind that changes with time. Plum, orchid, chrysanthemum, and bamboo symbolize the four seasons, signify the impartial order of nature that runs expectably, and also represent the color of artist’s various emotions. Kim, Yoi-ja draws these complex codes with subtle changes of the Indian ink, which is the unique feature of Kim, Yoi-ja’s painting. Therefore, the Sagunja painting of Kim, Yoi-ja comes closer with a new sense. The red plum blossoms that bloom in the blank of rich Indian ink is a sick and marvelous sensuality that has endured long winter, and a mingling of orchids and yellow butterflies in pale Indian ink in summer is a memory of the sunny days. The chrysanthemum flowers painted white on the ground treated with the splashed ink as if it runs give sorrow by its frosty calm figure, and the black and white bamboos standing confidently in the snow give consolation with confidence that keeps the way that we always have to pass through. As such, the time is recognized as various emotions in Sagunja painting of Kim, Yoi-ja. It is not a physical time that flows in a straight line, but a pattern of various reasons for circumstances of time. The pattern is unveiled as stratum difference in subtle black color. Therefore, audiences meet another world of Sagunja that has been interpreted anew. It is widely known that drawing orchids among Sahunja is the most difficult. The orchid has a few strands of leaves and uncomplicated flower shape. I want to share my orchid drawing with all of you. Please enjoy this video and subscribe me which definitely encourage me. :)
