Today we have a four minute guide to the Peugeot 205, Peugeot 205 GTI, Peugeot 205 CTI and all other variants of this super-quick French hatchback. Designed by Gerard Welter, the Peugeot 205 was released in 1983, and immediately received lots of praise for being a super-practical hatchback with also an element of fun when behind the wheel. Also produced was a cabriolet version. In late 1990 the Peugeot 205 received a facelift that would see small changes such as improved lights, but the famous design woul never be dramtically altered. 1984 saw the 1.6 litre, four cylinder Peugeot 205 GTI pocket-rocket launched with a recorded top speed of over 121mph. In 1987 a larger engined 1.9 litre Peugeot 205 GTI also came, with a staggering 115bhp which is an incredible amount of power for a nippy little car that weighed in at just 875kg. This engine was also fitted to the Cabriolet, thus creating the Peugeot 205 CTI. The above explanation has only scratched the surface on the wealth of information on the Peugeot 205 and Peugeot 205 GTI, so please watch this short and concise video until the end to make sure you don't miss out on anything, including facts on the Group B rally car that is the Peugeot 205 T16.
