Tri Colour Idli With Tri Colour Chutney Recipe A healthy and interesting breakfast idea to make idlis in three colours and celebrate this Independence Day. Especially kids loved this recipe for independence day. On special occasion of Independence Day let's make nutritious and delicious tricolor idlies. For saffron , the first color of flag we will use the blanch puree of carrot and for last color of flag green, we will use blanch spinach paste. Carrot and spinach both are nutritious and making breakfast out of it is the smart idea for all moms to give nutrition to their kids. Idlies without chutney and Sambhar is an incomplete dish. So to give a Independence Day twist to the recipe we will cook tricolor chutney as well and that too having lots of nutrition. For recipe of sambhar you people need to wait... So let's start with the ingredient and process there. Ingredients IDLI BATTER Idli Rawa 400 gm Urad Wash 200 gm Salt To Taste Water As Required For Coloring Idli : Blanch Spinach Puree Green Color Blanch Carrot Puree Saffron Color COCONUT CHUTNEY Coconut Medium 1 No Roasted Gram 3 Tbsp Green Chilli 1 No Curry Leaves 12 No Ginger Julienne 14 No Water As Required Salt To Taste RED CHUTNEY Tomato Puree 3 No Channa Dal 1.5 Tbsp Red Chilli Whole 2 No Curry Leaves 8 No Oil 2 Tbsp Salt To Taste Kashmiri Mirch Powder 1/2 Tsp GREEN COCONUT CHUTNEY Coconut Chutney 2 Tbsp Fresh Coriander Paste 1 Tsp Instructions Soak urad wash dal and Idli rawa for 1 hour. Then grind dal to smooth paste and add rawa to it and keep the batter aside for For 8 hours for fermentation. Now for tricolor chutney. First we make coconut chutney, peel fresh coconut and sliced it. Add green chilli, curry leaves, ginger, roasted gram and soak for 1 hour. After 1 hour grind the above mixture into paste. Now for tadka add oil in a pan and add mustard seeds , whole red chilli , curry leaves and saute until light brown. Add tadka in coconut chutney and mix . Garnish with little tadka on top and white chutney is ready. For green colour chutney add fresh coriander paste to coconut chutney and garnish with tadka on top and green chutney is ready. For red chutney add oil in a pan. Addwhole red chilli , curry leaves, chana dal and roast. Now add tomatoes and add salt , water as required. Saute it until tomatoes are mashy and cooked. Cool down the mixture and grind it to smooth paste. Add tadka to the chutney and mix. Garnish with tadka on top and red chutney is ready. Now check the idli batter left for fermentation. Add salt to the batter and mix properly. Now for tricolor idli we will make tri color batter first. For saffron color add blanched carrot Puree to the batter and mix. For green color add blanched spinach puree to the batter and mix. Now keep your idli steamer ready to steam idli. Now grease the idli mould with oil and add add batter one by one gently. Now steam your idlis for approx 15 minutes in the steamer and check with the help of toothpick. Your tricolor idli are ready to be served with tricolor chutney. Serve hot with chutney or sambhar.
