S. Korea reports 178,574 new COVID-19 cases Thursday

This is a slight decline from the day before, which was the highest figure in four months. But infections among people arriving from overseas reached an all-time high of 6-hundred-33, passing the previous record set last week. The country also reported 61 more COVID-19 deaths... while the number of severe cases stands at 4-hundred-70. South Korea has been seeing the Omicron subvariant BA.5 spread quickly during the summer vacation season.
