Advanced Civilizations In Universe according to Kardashev Scale Soviet astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev proposed a scale to measure the level of advancement of any civilization in the universe. He gave three types of advanced civilizations. Type 1: Civilization which can utilize the energy received on their home planet from their star. They have full control of all the forces on their planet. Type 2: The civilizations which are technologically so advanced that they can harness all the energy of their star. They can build structures like Dyson Spheres to cover their star and absorb the energy. Type 3: This type of civilization is an interplanetary civilization in which people can travel from star to star within their galaxy. They can establish themselves on various planets.
