[4K] NONSTOP CSX ACTION IN WAYCROSS, GA Ft. Progress Rail SNEAK PEAK on GA Trip Day 3! | 3/11/2026

As we've learned over the last three years, Waycross is where all the magic happens! That being said, the trip down there from Savannah wasn't without some magic of its own! We awoke to news that M494 was working the East Savannah intermodal yard with the RF&P Heritage Unit #1836 in lead position. Being our namesake railroad and all, there was no chance in hell we were missing that! After getting some shots of them working the intermodal yard and subsequently leaving northbound, we left the beautiful Savannah, GA, to which we will absolutely return! Along the way to the one and only Rice Yard, we made a pitstop in Patterson, GA to get our drone up over the Progress Rail facility and boy...THIS PLACE HAD EVERYTHING!! Several Ex KCS SD70MACs sat within, awaiting transition into Metra SD70MACH's! Some other various EMD projects could be seen as well, including a couple Amtrak units and some locomotives for foreign countries! Given these locomotives are under heavy repair/restoration, they cannot move around on their own, so Progress Rail makes use of an ex CSX GP15-1 for sorting out the facility! After that, chaos ensued! We finally made it down to Waycross, and our first train was a damn good one. CSX M515 came rolling into town with, ironically enough, a Metra SD70MACH that was bound for the Progress Rail facility we had JUST BEEN TO for repairs! The next few hours of trains after that were simply amazing, and not even the hot Georgia sun could keep us away from the tracks!
