Child & Family Well-being amid the COVID-19 Pandemic: Findings from the Household Pulse Survey

This is a recording of our Nov 12th, 2020 webinar. About the Webinar: Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, reliable and up-to-date data have proven an invaluable, if sometimes elusive, source for identifying urgent needs and delivering resources across the country. One of these data sources that recently emerged is the Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey, an experimental survey designed to track the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on U.S. households. In this presentation, CCC Research Associate Jack Mullan will share findings from the first phase of the survey (April 23rd – July 21st, 2020) on the well-being of families and children in the New York Metropolitan Statistical Area, including data that CCC has reported on economic and food insecurities, health and mental health, housing, and education. 00:00 - Webinar Start 5:25 - Overview of CCC's COVID-19 blog series 7:38 - Introduction to the Household Pulse Survey 12:15 - Findings related to economic security 16:22 - Findings related to food security 19:45 - Findings related to general health 20:47 - Findings related to mental health 23:50 - Findings related to housing 25:50 - Findings related to education 27:48 - Summary of findings and advocacy priorities 34:20 - Audience questions and discussion
