A new mutated variant of Covid has been reported by scientists in South Africa. The variant called C.1.2 is reportedly more transmissible and has 44-59 more mutations than the original Coronavirus that spread from Wuhan. A study done on the new strain noted that it has some mutations that are capable of escaping certain antibodies hence, compromising immune response from the vaccines. C.1.2 has been found in 6 countries. The Indian govt on Monday said that no cases of the strain have been reported so far in the country. The WHO has not yet notified C.1.12 as a variant of concern yet. Watch the full video for more details.
