Homily 11-21-2021 Monsignor Munilla JESUS CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE

Reading from the Prophecy of Daniel (7:13-14): As I watched, in the night vision I saw one like a Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, approaching the Ancient of Days and presenting himself before him. They gave him kingly power and dominion; all peoples, nations, and languages will fear him. His dominion is eternal and does not pass away; his kingdom will have no end. Word of God Psalm 92:1ab, 1c-2, 5 R/. The Lord reigns, clothed in majesty The Lord reigns, clothed in majesty, the Lord, clothed and girded with power. R/. So the world is established and will not be shaken. Your throne is established from everlasting, and you are eternal. R/. Your precepts are faithful and sure; holiness is the adornment of your house, Lord, for days without end. R/. Reading from the Book of Revelation (1:5-8): Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, the ruler of the kings of the earth. He who loves us has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us a kingdom and priests to his God and Father. To him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen. Behold, he is coming in the clouds. Every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. All the peoples of the earth will mourn over him. Yes. Amen. The Lord God says: "I am the Alpha and the Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Word of God Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John (18:33b-37): Pilate said to Jesus, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "Are you saying this on your own, or have others told you about me?" Pilate replied, “Am I a Jew? Your own people and the chief priests handed you over to me; what have you done?” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my guard would have fought to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Jews. But my kingdom is not of this world.” Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say it: I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” The Word of the Lord
