Why Anthony Joshua & Eddie Hearn Are Great For Boxing ðŸĨŠ

Why Anthony Joshua in my eyes is the best heavyweight in the world right now today. In a recent interview with Gary Neville of The Overlap podcast Anthony Joshua gave some insight into a lot of personal questions that boxing fans wanted to know. He really showed a lot of character and personality in this interview and he did not run away from tuff questions. His energy came across as very positive, sincere, straight to the point and he was very transparent. Joshua talked about how he got into trouble with the law when he was younger and how he begin his career in the sport of boxing. One of the many knocks on Joshua by his critics, detractors and haters a like is that he's been pampered. He's a convicted drug dealer. He ain't all that. He has big muscles. He's chinny. He got beat by a fat-boy. etc, etc, etc. Anthony Joshua takes care of his management team. His professional life and business life is intact. He's an incredible sportsman inside and outside the ring. He's an incredible role model for kids. And he's a global superstar with the receipts to back up his global drawing power. In this interview Joshua talks about how he got banded from his home town and how he had to stay in London. Joshua was also asked about the Andy Ruiz 1 loss at Madison Square Garden. Certain fighters in the heavyweight division even made mockery of Joshua when he lost to Ruiz. When asked how di he lose by Gary Neville Joshua simply replied no excuses. Now that's how a true champion handles and responds to a defeat. No excuses! True champions don't make excuses when adversity strikes. True champions don't blame others for their loss. True champions understand they must face their truth and expect responsibility for their own actions in order to make the corrections that are deemed necessary for them to win. Joshua also breaks down exactly what happen in the Tyson Fury negotiations and what went wrong from his perspective. When asked by Gary Neville, what happened in negotiations with Tyson Fury. Joshua simply said and I quote, "There's his side, There's our side, " & there's the truth." Now I don't want to re-litigate what happened between Fury & Joshua because it's a mute point at this moment in time. Fury has to deal with a highly motivated Deontay Wilder who's determined to get his belt back. Joshua has to deal with a highly motivated Oleksandr Usyk who's determined to become the unified Heavyweight Champion of the world. Joshua also breaks down the working relationship that him and Eddie Hearn has. And why they have such a good partnership together. Promoters should not own fighters like they did back in the day. Fighters and promoters should have a business relationship that's more like a partnership. Eddie Hearn works for Anthony Joshua and not the other way around. What can other fighters like Terence Crawford, Tank Davis, Jermell Charlo, Teofimo Lopez, David Benevidez and many more learn from Anthony Joshua in this interview from a business standpoint? Can other fighters learn how to brand themselves? Can other fighters learn how to market themselves to the public? Can other fighters learn how to speak in front of the camera, so they're not looked upon as just another dumb boxer that's getting pimped by a promoter. One of the things that I've learned from this interview is that in order for the sport of boxing to evolve, the fighters have to evolve as well. The old school way of doing things in the sport of boxing is dying and if the fighters don't understand this, then they'll be bitter, broke and disgusted. In the sport of boxing, exposure is everything! And until today's fighters learn how to use media as leverage to build their brand, build their image and to become more personal with fans of the sport of boxing. They will always be mad, bitter, resentfull towards the sport of boxing. Let's break down this interview and see what else did we learn about Anthony Joshua as a fighter, a champion, a role model, a businessman and a person. Let's talk about it.
