Every year on March 8th, people around the world celebrate the social, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. The Evening Standard looks back at some moments since last March that made us say 'hell yeah!' for women: In sport, Simone Biles and Megan Rapinoe exuded confidence and talent. A Swedish schoolgirl by the name of Greta Thunberg led a global movement. The Vagina Museum opened and tampons became free in state schools in England. The judges of the Booker Prize couldn't just pick one amazing woman to give the prize to, so they picked two. The UN appointed amazing new 'changemakers' such as Munroe Bergdorf. In music, Primavera Sound festival achieved a 50/50 line up. Samira Ahmed won a momentous equal pay case.
