Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in Carroll County early Monday morning. According to the GBI, a Carroll County Sheriff's Office deputy was on routine patrol when he approached a "suspicious" person at around 3:20 a.m. The person was in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar General on East Highway 166 in Carrollton. The GBI has been requested to investigate deputy involved shooting in Carroll County. Investigators haven't said what led up to the shooting. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He's since been released from the hospital and was taken into custody by the sheriff's office. The deputy wasn't injured during the shooting.
