Reaction/Comparison - Joan Baez vs The Association - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You - Acoustic vs Electric

This is a reaction/comparison video of Joan Baez and The Association covering the song "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You". The song is originally written by Anne Bredon in the late 1950's and recording of Anne does exist. This recording can be heard here on YouTube. Joan Baez's version is the first to be recorded and released on a record album, though it is a live version. The song is Joan and her guitar giving a folk blues interpretation. Joan released her version in 1962. The Association recorded their cover of the song as their first release, a single on Jubilee Records in 1965. The song did not chart. It is very electric and includes the familiar harmonies The Association will be known for in their hit making days. Their version is a bit more rock then blues, yet an interesting take on a song that has yet formed into the blues masterpiece recorded by Led Zeppelin 4 years later. Enjoy ...
