The Safety and Security Bargaining Council is today facilitating a conciliation process between members of the South African Police Service and Minister Bheki Cele. This is on a dispute over the incorporation of public service act members into the police act of 1995. Police unions launched the dispute with the employer accusing him of reneging on a 2011 commitment to employ the workers who are mostly admin staff under the police act. SABC Economics Reporter Katlego Legodi is at the bargaining council and joins us live. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
