Click the 3 dots and change your waveform scale type to HDR (ST.2084/HLG). I realize that this could cause more problems than the problems it fixes, but I think this video was still worth making as I haven't seen any reasonable solutions to banding and no one has discussed this topic on YT yet. YT compression is soul crushing and as technology changes, this might be the best path moving forward. I hope someone with bigger pockets can further delve into this rabbit hole, perhaps that could be me further down the line, but for now I just wanted to share what I have. Or, you know, just expose properly and film brighter stuff (I guess). Color management settings are not optimal, you can play around with input colorspace as well for your desired footage.
