It takes its name from “the chargers” (al-ʿadiyāt) mentioned in Verse 1. The surah touch upon Gods swearing by the warhorses He has subjected to man’s use that man is ungrateful and misguided. « The surah is also known as: Snorting Steeds, The Charging Mares, The Charging Steeds, The War Steeds, Those That Run, Those Who Run. Subtitles: In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. By the snorting chargers, by the strikers of sparks [with their hoofs], by the raiders at dawn, raising therein a trail of dust, and cleaving therein a host! Indeed man is ungrateful to his Lord, and indeed he is [himself] witness to that! He is indeed avid in the love of wealth. Does he not know, when what is in the graves is turned over, and what is in the breasts is divulged, indeed their Lord will be best aware of them on that day? Transliteration: bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi wa-l-ʿādiyāti ḍabḥan fa-l-mūriyāti qadḥan fa-l-mughīrāti ṣubḥan fa-ʾatharna bihī naqʿan fa-wasaṭna bihī jamʿan ʾinna l-ʾinsāna li-rabbihī la-kanūdun wa-ʾinnahū ʿalā dhālika la-shahīdun wa-ʾinnahū li-ḥubbi l-khayri la-shadīdun ʾa-fa-lā yaʿlamu ʾidhā buʿthira mā fī l-qubūri wa-ḥuṣṣila mā fī ṣ-ṣudūri ʾinna rabbahum bihim yawmaʾidhin la-khabīrun سورة العاديات - تجويد بصوت الشيخ محمد صديق المنشاوي
