Ep 3: Jerome's Trial Part I

We're repeatedly told that juries don't convict if it's the wrong kind of rape and the wrong kind of victim. Episode 3 of Criminal Justice in Action: Rape on Trial challenges that narrative. This episode sees us back in court for the trial of Jerome, accused of robbing five women, one of whom he also raped. The complainants are sex workers, and the conduct of the trial--and its outcome--raise important questions about rape myths, gender stereotypes, and how courtroom practice and jury decision-making are portrayed in the public discourse.
