WATCH: Schiff’s full opening statement on 2nd day of impeachment arguments - First impeachment

Trump's first impeachment - 2020 Rep. Adam Schiff, the lead House manager in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, outlined House Democrats’ plan to provide evidence for the first article of impeachment — abuse of power — on the second day of arguments. Schiff said they would present evidence that supports a conclusion of “guilt and conviction” for the president. House managers, who are acting as prosecutors in the trial, began presenting arguments on Jan. 22. The White House will give its defense after the House managers have been allowed 24 hours over the course of three days to present their case. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and removed from office, or acquitted.
