Andaal Kauthvam - Typically a kauthvam is a song interspersed with syllables and verses with lyrics in praise of any god or goddess. This kauthvam, is in praise of Goddess Aandal - the Saint poet. She grew up to be an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu with the desire of becoming his bride. Aandaal is reverred by the name 'Soodikkodutta Sudarkkodiyaal' - the lady who offered garlands to Lord Vishnu, after trying them out herself.
