Afghnis at side of street 13. Various, B-52 bomber over Kabul STORYLINE: A joint British and Afghani patrol took to the streets in Kabul on Saturday. A convoy of about 10 British marines and Afghani policemen started off near Kabul's Zarnigar park. Some were on foot, others rode in the back of a jeep. As they moved through the streets, the people of Kabul were friendly and there was a lot of good humour on display. In addition to Afghani policemen, the Royal Marines had several local Afghani translators with them. The British Royal Marines have been in the Afghan capital for eight days. They are based in the grounds of the British embassy in Kabul. Meanwhile, an American B-52 in the sky over Kabul served as a reminder that the US has yet to call off its bombing campaign in parts of Afghanistan.
