Vaccine Shortage? Centre Says No, Maharashtra, Odisha Close Some Vaccination Centres

As the country battles the second wave of Covid-19, shortage of vaccines could hamper India’s fight against the pandemic. Maharashtra announced on Thursday that 26 vaccination centres in Mumbai have been closed as they wait for more vaccine doses from the Centre.Reports of people being turned away from vaccine centres across the state have been doing rounds since last few days. The Odisha government has also announced that it had to close 700 of its vaccination centres due to a shortage of coronavirus vaccines on April 7. The state added that it only had supplies for two more days. Besides Maharashtra and Odisha, states like Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, have complained of supply deficit.
