Everyone needs to prepare for major impacts around the Charlotte area on Saturday and Sunday, bringing potential widespread sleet, ice and a wintry mix to North and South Carolina. A Ice Storm Warning is in effect for the entire Charlotte area through Monday, Jan. 26. The Ice Storm Warning is in effect for the following counties: Alexander, Anson, Ashe, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Chester, Chesterfield, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lancaster, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Richmond, Rowan, Stanly, Union, Watauga and York.
