Panic gripped the Mallital Avagarh compound area of Nainital in Uttarakhand when a two-story building, Chatan Lodge, collapsed like a stack of cards. The incident, triggered by a landslide that began around 6 am, caused damage to two adjacent structures but fortunately resulted in no casualties. The building, owned by government official Subhash Chanyal, succumbed to the relentless force of the landslide by 1:15 pm.
