Conservation Committee: Bright Lights in Big Cities 09 14 2021

Dr. Kyle G. Horton's presentation to the Denver Audubon Conservation Committee on Bright Lights in Big Cities: Migratory Birds & Artificial Light. Dr. Horton’s lab studies migratory birds and employs a range of remote sensing tools, including the use of weather surveillance radar data. His seminar highlights his team’s work uniting these pieces of information to better understand how migrants use nighttime airspaces, determine where and when migrants are impacted by artificial light, and how radar can be used to forecast and mitigate these impacts. Dr. Kyle G. Horton is Assistant Professor at Colorado State University.
