300m Sprints Buddy Workout for power walkers and race walkers

This is a fun way to do 300 meter sprints with a walking buddy. You will need someone who race walks or power walks close to your same pace, but it can also be a runner that jogs your pace. Start by putting a cone at the 100m, 200m, 300m and 400m marks. Walk a few laps to warm up, followed by some drills, stretches and hydration. Here are links to some of the favorite drills and stretches:    • This Standing Shin Stretch is designed for...      • Stretch hips, shoulders and legs after you...      • Groin Stretch - Coach Carmen Style!      • Wall Angels Exercise - Stretching Your Hip...      • Develop Ankle Range of Motion with this 3-...      • The Counter Stretch is a favorite post-wor...      • Gain Shoulder Mobility with this Single Ar...   Decide who will start first and who will be the second walker. The first walker will start at the 400m point. The second walker will wait at the 300m mark. Do a hand slap for baton pass and turn around. You'll walk in the reverse direction for just 100m and wait for your walking buddy to show up. Do a hand slap and repeat the process. The one who just finished needs to turn around and walk in the reverse direction to wait at the 200m mark. As you can see, your starting and stopping points will shift after every handoff. Do as many as you'd like at whatever pace challenges you, but don't go so fast that you lose good form. For an added level of fun, get more teams of two and start at the same time. Put the faster team in the outer lane so you can challenge each other. If you need great walking shoes, check out our selection at www.reshod.com
