This week’s training was meant to be sensible. But running easy isn't easy. I'm a master runner attempting yet another marathon at age 68. Looking back at my last marathon — number 49 — it’s painfully clear what not to do. No long runs, no fueling plan, too much belief in speed that disappears after 30km. Episode 4 is about doing things differently this time. Or at least knowing how to do it right, even if I don't always follow my own rules. Long runs, consistency, learning from past mistakes — and still remembering why I love running in the first place. From an easy run with my son around Sydney Harbour, to pushing a little too hard when the legs feel good, this episode captures the constant tension between discipline and enjoyment in marathon training. No shortcuts. Just showing up, learning, and trying to get it right.
