Seoul and Tokyo FMs meet in Davos on Wednesday to discuss bilateral disputes

한일 외교장관, 오늘 '강제동원 판결 후' 첫 회담 The foreign ministers of South Korea and Japan are to meet for the first time since the downturn in relations due to the forced labor ruling late last year. The two diplomats will be meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday morning local time. It's likely they'll discuss the rulings on compensation for forced labor. In October, a South Korean court approved the seizure some assets of a Japanese steelmaker... after the company refused to compensate South Korean victims for unpaid work during Japan's colonial rule. Japan has called for an inter-governmental discussion on the matter and Seoul is yet to respond. The recent dispute over Japan's claim that a South Korean destroyer used its radar to target a Japanese plane could also be discussed.
