Waw And Ya As Letter Of Madd [ Alif Ba Lesson - 10]

11-Waw and Ya as Letter of Madd Sometimes, “Alef” as a letter of Madd is written in the form of “Waw” (و) or “Ya” (ى). When this happens, “waw” or “ya” extends the sound of the letter before it, which has fatha. To show the long vowel in Quran, a short and slightly vertical line (ـ¹) is put on the letter for which the vowel is lengthened.
