Remote Filtering with NxFilter, NxClient

Demonstrating how to filter/monitor a remote user Internet activity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conditions, You have a user working remotely with a company laptop. You want to filter and monitor his/her Internet activity wherever he/she is. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. We have NxFilter on 192.168.0.103. But we don't use it as a DNS server. There's no filtering for this laptop. 2. Enable authentication on NxFilter. 3. Enable Proxy Filtering on NxFilter. 4. Create a user account for your user. We use 'remote200' user account. 5. Block 'Porn' category on your default policy. 6. Install NxClient on the laptop. You can download it from http://www.nxfilter.org. 7. We use '192.168.0.103' as the server IP of NxClient. In reality, you will use 'External Redirection IP' of NxFilter. 8. Copy the login-token of 'remote200' into NxClient setup. 9. Test the connection. Save it before test it. 10. Try to browse the Internet. Porn sites are blocked while we are not using NxFilter as our DNS server.
