Michael and two other black men were set upon by a group of white youths outside a pizzeria after their car broke down. Two of the victims, including Michael were severely beaten. To escape the attack Michael ran on foot to the barrier of the belt parkway where he was struck and killed. Reverand Al Sharpton became the biggest advocate for justice and New York City was racially fractured. We tell the story and take a look back almost 37 years after this awful tragedy.
