A comforting and flavourful dal made with a mix of nutritious veggies to satisfy your soul and tummy both. DHANSAK DAL Ingredients ¼ cup Bengal gram, soaked and drained 2 tbsps moong dalm soaked and 2 tbsps red lentil, soaked and drained 1 small onion, diced 100 grams red pumpkin, peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes 2-3 small brinjals, quartered Salt to taste ¼ tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp cumin powder 1½ tsps dhansak masala ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds 2 tbsps chopped fresh coriander leaves Method 1. Pressure cook Bengal gram, split skinless green gram, red lentil, onion, red pumpkin, brinjals, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, dhansak masala, fenugreek seeds and 2½ cups water till 4-5 whistles are given out. 2. Open the cooker once the pressure has reduced completely; blend the cooked gram-vegetable mixture with an electric hand blender till smooth. 3. Place the cooker back on heat, add ½ cup water and adjust salt and mix. Switch the heat off and add the coriander leaves. 4. Transfer the dhansak dal into a serving bowl and serve hot.
