The promise in Resurrection: Luke 20:27-40

Jesus answered very few of the questions posed by the Temple elites directly. More often he turned the question back on them and made them look foolish. That is what we have here: A Sadducee asks a question based on their dismissal of the resurrection and sole focus on the teaching of Moses (Deut. 25: 5-10; Gen 38), and Jesus uses other teachings of Moses to make them look ignorant of God. The whole idea of resurrection is the revolutionary promise of equality in the next life. The catch is that that 'next life' can be in this existence, if we follow the teachings of Jesus and take our role as co-creators of the God's world seriously.
