Today we're going to be taking a look at part number C45290. This is the Curt Ball Mount for 2-inch hitches, rated at 7,500 pounds. This ball mount is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank is going to slide into your vehicle's hitch receiver and the ball platform's going to provide a good mounting point for your hitch ball. Hitch balls are going to be sold separately. You can see a lot of different options right here at etrailer.com. You can use this in either the drop or rise position. Both positions are available to help insure level towing. It's made from a sturdy steel construction. It's going to feature a nice hallow shank here on the backside as well as chrome plating, so it's going to stand up well against rust and corrosion. To get this secured inside of your hitch, you're going to need to use a hitch pin and clip or a hitch pin and lock. Curt's going to sell that separately. You can find that here on our website using part number C21500. That's going to be for your standard 5/8-inch pin and clip. Or for your hitch pin and lock, you can use part number 7683. This portion right here is designed to work with 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receivers. Again, the gross towing weight, max capacity is going to be 7,500 pounds. Tongue weight is going to have a capacity of 750 pounds. A few measurements to go over with you real quick. Measuring from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of hitch ball hole, that's going to give us a measurement center on center of about 8 inches. The distance that we have from center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the shank, that's going to give us a measurement of 2 1/2 inches. With it installed in the rise position, that would be this position here, measuring from the top of shank to the top of the platform is going to give us about 3-quarter-inch or 1-inch rise. In the drop position, measuring from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform, that drop is going to 2 and 1-quarter of an inch. The ball hole diameter on this particular mount is going to give us a diameter of 1 inch. Keep that measurement in mind when choosing a hitch ball. You want to make sure that the shank of the hitch ball matches with the ball hole diameter of the mount that you want. Curt's going to cover this with a limited lifetime warranty. Real quick I just wanted to show you how it would install inside of your hitch. Have a couple of receivers here today. Simply just want to slide in the shank until we get our pin holes to line up with one another. I'm going to insert my 5/8 inch pin and clip. You can also use a hitch pin and lock. Whatever works for your application. Just like that, we're ready to go. Just need to get our hitch ball on there and torque to specifications.
