Hundreds of Scots take part in Boxing Day Dip in the sea for charity at Ayr beach

Hundreds of hardy souls have taken part in the annual charity Boxing Day Dip at Ayr beach. The dip has become a firm favourite over recent years for Scots to blow away the cobwebs - and hangovers from Christmas Day - while raising money for Ayrshire Cancer support. There were Santa hats aplenty this year, as the brave participants took to the water early on Boxing Day, wearing bikinis, fancy dress and with some even still in their pyjamas.
