Here is the Trigger Crisphead lettuce, Lactuca sativa. This superb Calmar-type iceberg lettuce is right on target. It has shown high tolerance to cold as well as moderate ability to withstand heat while reluctance to succumb to BOR even when left overcrowded under difficult conditions of excessive rainfall. Head size can range from 4 to 10 inches round and can be peeled off leaf by leaf for salads as the head grows. It is very crinkly toothed leaves fold into tight, tight hard medium-green heads without give.
