More than 10,000 protest in Berlin against Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Over 10,000 people in Berlin marched to the city's landmark, Brandenburg Gate on Friday (February 24) to show solidarity with Ukraine one year after the Russian invasion of the country. Thousands of people marched through the city and gathered in front of the Brandenburg Gate, which was illuminated in the evening in the colours of the Ukrainian flag. The protest route passed the Russian embassy where the marchers chanted anti-Russian slogans and held up placards calling Russian President Putin a terrorist. Many people who had fled Ukraine also took part in the demonstration.
