79. INDIAN RAILWAYS | Delhi to Vasco via Doodhsagar Waterfalls - Goa Superfast express with GZB WAP7

Date and Time: Aug 21, 2013, 15:37 hours Location: Asaoti, NDLS-MTJ mainlines The one and only, none other than, "GOA EXPRESS" aka Goa "Super" express, it's the only direct connectivity to the Doodhsagar Waterfalls from Delhi region, One can book tickets to/from Kulem station and directly board this train at Doodhsagar where it has given a technical halt. This was the first occasion on which I spotted this train; it was hauled by Ghaziabad (GZB) WAP7 30215, aka NAVGATI. It was a treat watching a white beast from GZB hurtle past at 110kmph flat, hauling away the 24 coach consist effortlessly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goa express is one of the 2 daily services and over-all 6 train services connecting Delhi to Goa. While all other trains ply via Madgaon, Goa express ventures further till Vasco-da-Gama. It is regularly seen hauled by a GZB WAP7 between Nizamuddin and Manmad Jn.; while it used to get twin Alcos from PUNE shed for Manmad-Londa leg of the journey, although recent info from other Railfans say that this link has changed to PUNE WDP4D. And for the last leg of the journey from Londa Jn. to Vasco-da-Gama, it gets GY WDM3A twins/WDG3A usually. The train carries 4 slip coaches from Nizamuddin to Hubli Jn.; headquarters of SWR, in Dharwad Distt.; Karnataka. It consists of 2 SL coaches, 1 SLRD and a 2AC coach. They are uncoupled at Londa Jn. and sent to Bangalore with the Rani Chennamma express. The train undergoes reversals at three places, namely Daund Jn., Pune Jn., and Londa Jn. A very famous train among Railfans, its the only direct connectivity from the National Capital to Doodhsagar Waterfalls.
