In this talk, Alice Di Tucci (AEI Potsdam) discusses gravitational path integrals in the presence of negative and positive cosmological constant within the minisuperspace approximation, putting special emphasis on boundary conditions and integration contours. Alice shows how the Hawking-Page transition is recovered in this setting. These findings have direct consequences for the no-boundary proposal in cosmology, because the anti–de Sitter calculation can be brought into one-to-one correspondence with a path integral for de Sitter space with Neumann conditions imposed at the nucleation of the Universe. The Virtual Seminar Series “GQFI-Warsaw String Theory” (GQFI-WST) is a joint initiative between the strings/holography groups at the Albert Einstein Institute (AEI) in Potsdam and the University Warsaw. The calendar for upcoming GQFI-WST seminars can be found here: https://gqfi.aei.mpg.de/node/3. This talk is primarily based on arXiv:2007.04872 [https://arxiv.org/abs/2007.04872]. This talk was recorded on November 04, 2020 at the Albert Einstein Institute in Potsdam-Golm.
