Pope leaves Rome for Poland

(27 Jul 2016) Pope Francis has departed Rome for Poland on Wednesday, where he will spend five days meeting with young Catholics for World Youth Day, a global gathering. It will be the first visit by Francis to Poland, one of Europe's most deeply Catholic nations. The usually joyful event, which takes place every two or three years, is overshadowed this year by the brutal slaying on Tuesday of a Catholic priest in France by Islamic extremists.
