005 - Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 1 & Part 2 (1984-1987) Review

Welcome back to Midnight Movies! Today, your hosts Nikki and Cody are reviewing Silent Night, Deadly Night Parts 1 and 2. In Silent Night Part 1, Billy is a normal child, when one day his parents are killed by a man dressed as Santa. This experience causes Billy to grow up with a severe phobia of Santa. Paired with a rough upbringing in a Catholic orphanage, Billy eventually goes on a murderous rampage dressed as Santa, an event that effects his little brother Ricky. In Part 2, we follow a grown up Ricky as he recounts his violent past to a psychiatrist. Ricky eventually breaks out his mental facility to seek revenge on the nun who raised him and his brother. Silent Night, Deadly Night was highly controversial at the time, drawing negative backlash towards the premise of a killer Santa. It has gone on to become a cult classic, with its sequel being crowned as one of the best worst films of all time. But do these two films hold up after all this time? Listen to what Nikki and Cody have to say about these cult holiday films.
