Message of Ms. Gianna Gancia, MEP from Italy, supporting the November 2019 uprising in Iran and the Call for Justice Movement. In her message, Ms. Gancia pointed out that at least 1,500 protesters were killed during three days by the Iranian regime's mercenaries and troops, more than 7,000 were injured, and at least 12,000 protesters were detained under torture. She also underlined the fact that the clerical regime has relied on executions and torture of Iranian citizens to preserve its rule, as manifested in the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988, ninety percent of whom were affiliated to the Iranian opposition, People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). Ms. Gancia condemned the European and American policy of appeasing the clerical regime which did not allow investigation into the 1988 massacre. She called on international organizations and the Parliament of Europe to end the impunity of the leaders of the clerical regime, all of whom were involved in the 1988 massacre and in four decades of crimes against humanity.
